For the first time, students and ministers of the seminary receive study bibles. I returned to Germany to organize more help and plan to go back to Malawi in July. The photographs speak for themselves. Students and pastors are happy for this kind of gift. They have never had a study bible before. These bibles will help them understand the Word better. The study bibles also made studies such as hermeneutics and homiletics easier to teach and understand. Studying the Word of God has become more available for Sunday school teachers and for future pastors. The Malawi people did not have the opportunity to purchase this kind of material because they did not have them available or were not able to afford them financially. We would like to thank Dr. Darius Salter for his contribution and participation in this project. We were very blessed.
The number or participants in our studies grew. The teams are working hard and are doing a great job. Because of people like you, we were able to purchase over 100 study bibles in the Chichewa language and a couple in the English language. Studying the bible in the Chichewa language was nearly impossible before. The study bible contains a bible dictionary, commentaries, registers of different topics and maps. The Malawi people have a saying, “in Malawi you can get just about anything, but not all the time”. Finally, the boxes of bibles arrived to our ministry. We distributed them only amongst participants in the seminary, (mostly pastors of churches) of hermeneutics seminaries and amongst those pastors that know how to utilize this study bible.
We also hold seminars for leaders of youth. They come for in-depth studies of the Word so that they may be able to teach it further to their youth. We plan to give our most striving students the study bibles as gifts. We hope to motivate the students to want to learn and study harder. These bibles are a real treasure to the Malawi people. Everything else seems to be going well. Although, the Malawi people anticipate poor harvest this year which means hunger. We will try to do everything we can to help. Our main priority is preaching and teaching the Word of God. We thank everyone who took part in this project. May God bless you.
