In December 2016 we made history with our brothers in Turkey. This is the biblical Asia and modern Turkey. The situation here remains troubling due to the recent events, the attempted coup and ongoing attacks. The population lives in constant fears, not knowing from what site the danger might come. In recent months, radical Islamist terrorists carried out suicide bomb attacks in public places.
Some areas of southern Turkey are closed or hard to reach with the Gospel. On our way to the South we passed cities, that the Bibles tells us about were the name of our God used to be declared. The cities were Ephesus, Pergamum, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. The remaining ruins testify about the former greatness of these cities and the remains of the destroyed temples testify about the power of our Lord’s words: “I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. – Rev 2:5”
In these small towns Turks Muslims are the main population but there are almost no Christian believers. Only in Ephesus is a small group of Christians that we know of. Together with our brothers we prayed in each city and each former temple and asked the Lord for mercy and awakening for these people. Our goal is it to open a church in each city.
Our missionary musical group is getting ready for evangelistic services in Iraq, Lebanon and Southern Turkey. This region is considered the dangerous area by the authorities because it is close to the Syrian border. This is where people gather and want to hear the Good News about Christ. Please pray for us that we may preach the Gospel to these people. We are glad about any support that we receive.
