This summer we were greatly blessed. We had the opportunity to travel and conduct evangelistic services in a general education school located in Chiang Rai, in the north of Thailand. Our team had 25 people, 10 from America, 9 were local students and the Thailand Christian School Avoda and 6 came from Russia. The Lord gave us strength and unity. We acted as an obedient tool in His hands to do the work we were called for. Our main goal was to work in the district of Viang Kaen, Chiang Rai. In the Tak province we became more familiar with the traditional Thai and Buddhist culture and in Mae Sot, which is near the Thai-Burmese border, we learned how to work with Muslim refugees. In the north of Thailand are living Chinese tribes who moved there in the past.
In the Viang Kaen area, the biggest part of the population belongs to the Ming tribe. The people of this tribe have a deep belief in a spiritual world. They believe that animals that live among them have a spirit that cannot be disturbed.
Last year we received an invitation from 22 different schools from the North of Thailand. They all asked to conduct summer camps for their students. It is amazing to see how many doors the Lord opens for his work. In the United States, it is almost impossible to preach the Gospel in public schools, but here in Thailand, the possibilities are endless.
This year the Lord brought us to one of these schools, the Khun Kwak Whitaya. We organized two camps within two weeks. The first camp had 223 students from the age of 13-16 and the second camp was for a younger audience from 9-12 years had 121 students.
According to Gods plan, we must sow the seed and He will give grow it. At the end of our program, all 344 students knew about Jesus Christ. It was a blessing to see students and teachers sing for the glory of God. They listened attentively to the Bible lessons and were ready to open their hearts to the Lord.
The local teacher Honi, who was holding the camps closing speech said: ”God bless you all.” We want to thank everybody for prayers and support of this ministry. Please continue to pray for a revival in Thailand. Local missionaries planted the seeds and we watered their crops. But the result can only come through God who gives repentance and a new spirit.
It is written: “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase.” 1 Cor. 3:6-7.” To Him be the glory forever and ever, Amen.
